Why You Should Hire A Wedding Planner

When I was newly engaged and starting to plan my wedding, I initially decided I wouldn’t use a wedding planner. I had been to so many weddings as a guest and behind the scenes and felt like I knew how things worked. The farther I got into my planning journey, the more stressed out I became about how things would run on the big day and WHO would run them. I knew I would need someone’s help to make sure everything was set up properly and the day ran smoothly but I didn’t want this to fall on the shoulders of my mom or other relatives, I wanted all of our guests to be able to enjoy the day.

Kyle and I decided that we would meet with a few wedding planners and weigh our options – it doesn’t hurt to chat, right? We met with a few planners and the thought of having them on our side was an instant weight off our shoulders. We ended up hiring Charleston Weddings By Allison for month of planning and my only regret is not booking her sooner!

If you’re having the same dilemma, here are a 4 reasons you should hire a wedding planner!

1. Timeline Planning Help

A wedding planner will help you plan your wedding day timeline. They will coordinate your vendor’s arrival and setup, make sure there is cushion time so everything runs smoothly, and work with your photographer to give you plenty of time for great photos!

2. Coordinate With Your Vendors

Your wedding planner will be the point of contact with your vendors in the weeks leading up to your wedding. They will make sure your vendors are all on the same page for the wedding day, make sure they have everything they need, and make sure your contracts with them are being fulfilled. In the stress of planning, it can be easy to forget to touch base with a particular vendor or overlook small details in your contracts – it’s great to have someone to coordinate all of that (definitely speaking from experience here)!

3. Your Family Members Can Enjoy The Day

When a wedding planner isn’t hired most of the decorating, timeline management, and vendor coordination falls to your friends and family. Hiring a planner ensures you and your loved ones will be able to enjoy your wedding day and not have to stress about the details.

4. They Advocate For YOU!

Wedding planners are there to make sure your wedding day is the best it can be and to stay true to what you want. If you’re having a hard time with a vendor or have a hiccup on your wedding day, they will do everything they can to help – and believe me, they have a LOT of resources. They will also be there for you in those moments you just get a little overwhelmed by everything, during the planning process and on your wedding day!

There are so many more reasons to hire a wedding planner and I can’t say enough positive things about these wedding day superheroes! Whether you opt for a full service planning package or month of coordination, I highly recommend adding a wedding planner to your dream team of vendors. They are WELL worth the added expense.
