Every time I walk up to the Legare Waring House, I can feel that old Southern charm exuding from every nook and cranny of the property. This historic home is located on the beautiful grounds of Charles Towne Landing and sits at the edge of the most majestic, Spanish moss draped avenue of oaks.
The home’s features are romantic, yet understated and add to the natural beauty surrounding it. From the spacious, Victorian decorated inside to the sweet screened in porch and brick courtyard outside, this Charleston venue is sure to charm all of your guests.

What I Love About Weddings
at Legare Waring House
- Large, beautiful space to get ready in. There’s even a separate groom’s quarters for the guys.
- Everything can take place at the venue. Getting ready, portraits, ceremony, reception – there’s no need for running around venue to venue!
- Incredibly beautiful house and gardens. You can’t really pick a bad spot for photos.
- Plenty of guest parking with a shuttle transportation for guests.

Pro Tips for Weddings
at Legare Waring House
- If you choose to have your ceremony in the avenue of oaks, consider having your ceremony a couple hours before sunset. The dappled light under the trees can create some lighting strains if it’s too early in the day.
- Build in as much time as possible for portraits – you’ll want to take advantage of the beautiful scenery.
- Consider providing bug spray for your guests, especially if your wedding is in spring or summer.
- It’s pronounced “Leh-gree”.
