Family photography is my bread and butter. Before I began as a wedding photographer, I was a Charleston Family Photographer.

When I started photographing weddings, I was excited to keep in touch with my couples and document their growing families. Today, I only capture family photos for past clients and past wedding clients when I get the chance. Being a Charleston family photographer is so much fun because I get to meet the newest members of my past clients families.

Family sessions happen in a place that is meaningful to your family, whether it’s the beach, a spot around town, or your home. If you want to include your furry family members, that’s even better! I love photographing families with their dogs and cats.

When Rosey contacted me about taking their engagement photos, she asked if they could include David’s 8 year old daughter Esme. Of course, I thought it was a terrific idea. I don’t have many photo sessions at Riverfront Park in North Charleston so I chose it as the location for Pay What You Can sessions in August. The park’s boardwalks, large grassy areas, and harbor views provided a laid back, simple spot for Sarah and Mike’s updated couple’s photos. In 2012 and 2013 I photographed […]

It’s not often I get to take adult family photos here in Charleston. It’s definitely a different mindset than photographing families with children but I love to mix things up! While Katie was visiting her parents from Texas, she contacted me to schedule some updated family photos. Katie and I went to high school together, […]

How to Prepare for Your Photography Session | Charleston Wedding Photographer

One of the biggest questions I get asked by clients is what they should do to prepare for their photo session. Many people don’t have a lot of experience in front of the camera and are often very nervous when it comes time to get their picture taken – I’m also one of those people. […]

Mandy drove down to Charleston with her two sons, all the way from upstate New York, to visit some good friends. We met on a sunny Monday afternoon at the Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
