I love keeping in touch with past wedding couples as they grow their lives together. Sara and Ian are one of the couples I’ve been so lucky to photograph again. I photographed their wedding at Dataw Island Club back in 2017 and before that I took their engagement photos in Downtown Charleston. This time, I had the privilege […]

Family photography is my bread and butter. Before I began as a wedding photographer, I was a Charleston Family Photographer.
When I started photographing weddings, I was excited to keep in touch with my couples and document their growing families. Today, I only capture family photos for past clients and past wedding clients when I get the chance. Being a Charleston family photographer is so much fun because I get to meet the newest members of my past clients families.
Family sessions happen in a place that is meaningful to your family, whether it’s the beach, a spot around town, or your home. If you want to include your furry family members, that’s even better! I love photographing families with their dogs and cats.
If you’ve explored my site before, you’ve seen this family and have probably read about how much I love these guys. You probably know that I’ve been photographing Hannah since she was a newborn and that this family have become more than just clients, they’ve become good friends. These guys have been with me since […]

When Rosey contacted me about taking their engagement photos, she asked if they could include David’s 8 year old daughter Esme. Of course, I thought it was a terrific idea. Combined with the golden light and blooming azaleas, this family’s high energy made for a great afternoon. I loved joking around with them and roaming […]
Starting this week off right with a throwback to last year’s adorable Breakfast at Tiffany’s family session. How precious is this?! This family has trusted me to photograph them for over 4 years – since Hannah was a newborn! I can’t believe she will be 5 in January. Last year before Hannah’s fourth birthday Maria […]
I don’t have many photo sessions at Riverfront Park in North Charleston so I chose it as the location for Pay What You Can sessions in August. The park’s boardwalks, large grassy areas, and harbor views provided a laid back, simple spot for Sarah and Mike’s updated couple’s photos. In 2012 and 2013 I photographed […]
Chris, Victoria, and sweet baby Cora had their first family photos at Mepkin Abbey a few weeks ago! This little family was so easy to work with and baby Cora was no exception. Though it was tough to get some smiles out of her, she was so happy and content the entire time. Check out […]
It’s not often I get to take adult family photos here in Charleston. It’s definitely a different mindset than photographing families with children but I love to mix things up! While Katie was visiting her parents from Texas, she contacted me to schedule some updated family photos. Katie and I went to high school together, […]
One of the biggest questions I get asked by clients is what they should do to prepare for their photo session. Many people don’t have a lot of experience in front of the camera and are often very nervous when it comes time to get their picture taken – I’m also one of those people. […]
Mandy drove down to Charleston with her two sons, all the way from upstate New York, to visit some good friends. We met on a sunny Monday afternoon at the Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Upon meeting, Mandy expressed her delight at driving through the palm trees on her way to […]
