I’ve been dreaming about visiting The Island House again since Britany and Bryton’s wedding back in 2018. When Stephanie sent me an email inquiry, I was thrilled about the possibility of photographing another beautiful Charleston wedding there! Stephanie and Patrick’s spring wedding at The Island House had the best laid back, coastal feel and the celebration really reflected who they are as a couple.
We started the day off with detail and getting ready photos in the sun filled bridal suite. Stephanie was so calm and was absolutely beaming with excitement to marry Patrick! After her mom and sister helped her into her lace dress and silver, rhinestone covered Betsy Johnson sneakers, Stephanie was ready for a first look with her groom! Stephanie and Patrick met in front of the house for a private first look together. They had the sweetest smiles after seeing each other for the first time in their wedding attire!
Stephanie and Patrick’s tied the knot with a serene view of the Stono River as their backdrop. Of course, with a riverside ceremony, the wind had its moment too. During Stephanie’s walk down the aisle with her dad, her cathedral veil flew straight up into the air and across the lawn. But not to worry, their wedding planner Kelly of Events on the Edge was on it! Stephanie and her dad laughed until they cried while making their way down the aisle! Their heartfelt ceremony went off without a hitch and Stephanie and Patrick both beamed as they were pronounced husband and wife!
Following the ceremony and portraits by the river, Stephanie and Patrick celebrated with tasty cocktails, good food, and a huge dance party with their family and friends. Their reception was filled with laughter, hugs, and the occasional dance circle – such a fun time celebrating their marriage! When the night was through, the couple said goodbye to their guests and exited through the most glorious tunnel of bubbles.
