I first met Katie when we were sorority sisters at the College of Charleston and we later shared a cubicle at my first post-grad job. When she reached out to me to photograph her wedding in downtown Charleston, I was excited to accept!
Katie and Oren met in law school and now live and work together in Texas with their two poodles, Bones and Harry. This October they decided to come back to the Lowcountry to tie the knot in the most classic, chinoiserie inspired wedding in downtown Charleston.
The day started at the Francis Marion Hotel where Katie shared a sweet first look with her dad. I think the father/daughter first look is one of my favorite wedding day traditions and I’m always so excited when a bride mentions she wants to do this.
We then headed over to beautiful Church Street for Katie and Oren’s first look together. After some bride and groom portraits on the historic streets of downtown Charleston, we headed over to White Point Garden where they tied the knot in the gazebo. Their dog, Bones, was the cutest ring bearer!
After a stop at Waterfront Park for wedding party photos, Katie and Oren celebrated their marriage with a reception at Halls Signature Events. They decorated the space with lots of ginger jars, magnolia leaves, and of course two poodle figures on their cake!
Though their plans changed because of COVID, Katie and Oren’s wedding day turned out so beautifully and I had an incredible time photographing their wedding day. Keep scrolling to see a few of my favorites!
