How to Make Your Elopement Extra Special

Elopements have become quite the norm in 2020 and I can’t say I’m mad about it. Elopements are so special and I love that they truly focus on the most important aspect of your wedding day – the love between the bride and groom! Today, I’m sharing some ideas on how to make your elopement extra special!

1. A fun ceremony send off!

Give your attendees bubbles to blow or confetti to toss as you walk back down the aisle as a newly married couple. Such a festive way to celebrate your first moments as newlyweds, and a great photo-op too! I loved Erin and Josh’s bubble send off!

2. Hire a musician

Hire a musician to play your song as your walk down the aisle or have your very own first dance after your “I Dos”! Having a song that you associate with your wedding day is one of things you’ll cherish throughout your marriage.

3. Pop some champagne

Instead of waiting to pop the champagne at dinner time, have a celebratory glass (or bottle) right after you are pronounced Mr. and Mrs! Make a toast and tell each other how excited you are for the years to come.

4. Get married in your favorite location

An elopement is the perfect time to pick your absolute favorite place to get married. Whether it’s far away or in your own backyard, pick a spot that’s special to the two of you and your story. If you’re stuck, here are some gorgeous Charleston elopement spots!

5. Share a first look

Sharing a first look before your ceremony is one of those things that may make your elopement feel “normal” and so special. I love including a first look when capturing an elopement! This is always a great moment between the bride and groom. If you’re on the fence, here are some of the reasons to consider a first look!

I hope you’ve been inspired by these ways to make your elopement extra special! How are you putting your own spin on your elopement? I’d love to hear what you have planned!
