I have been visiting this place for years so when I was asked to photograph Lauren and Corley’s Colonial Dorchester State Historic Site wedding ceremony in December, it was an enthusiastic yes! Lauren and Corley were married in front of the brick remains of the bell tower of St. George’s Anglican Church with only their parents in attendance.
There is definitely something to say about having such an intimate ceremony. Because of their small group, they had the flexibility to move their date forward a couple days when some bad weather encroached on their original date. The new date brought such beautiful weather and it was so perfect!
Colonial Dorchester State Historic Site is located in Summerville, SC and is the original site of the pre-Revolutionary town of Dorchester. The park is an active archaeological site and definitely worth a visit when you’re in the area.
