A few weeks ago, I had the idea to take some styled bridal portraits at Runnymede Plantation. You may have noticed I’ve been slowly rebranding and needed some images to tie a nice bow around it all.
With only 2 weeks to pull everything together, I was able to get in touch with some fabulous vendors that helped make it all possible. First, I asked my sister to model for me – this whole journey started with her in front of the camera so, why wouldn’t I ask her to be part of this? This was probably the coldest day we’ve had so far this year and Kailyn was a total pro, facing the bitter cold wind while looking flawless.
Second on my list was finding the perfect venue. I knew I wanted to shoot at Runnymede amongst all of the Spanish moss and they were so kind to let me use the property! Runnymede has been on my venue wish list for such a long time, even before my wedding there in 2018. Something about this place just takes your breath away!
Next I needed to find the perfect bridal gown. Something feminine and romantic with a little bit of blush. I saw this Essence of Australia gown on Gown Boutique of Charleston’s Instagram page and I just knew this was the one. GBC was incredible when we visited the boutique to try-on the dress (I highly recommend checking them out if you’re looking for a dress)!
To add to Kailyn’s bridal look we needed an amazing hair and makeup artist. When I dreamt about the shoot, I imagined a soft but glamorous makeup look and a romantic braided hairstyle. Once I saw Domanique’s work on the Shadows and Shears Instagram page, I knew she would be a perfect fit for this project. I’m so glad she was available to help us create such a flawless hair and makeup look!
Our team wasn’t complete until we found a florist. To really complete the look, I was in search of a colorful and slightly whimsical bridal bouquet — and in came Kwan of Bliss in Bloom. The bouquet she created was more than I could have dreamed and I loved how cheerful the colors were. It added SO much to the shoot and matches my brand so well.
Overall, these styled bridal portraits at Runnymede Plantation turned out so much better than I could have imagined. I’m so excited to share them now and hope you love them as much as I do! ♥️
