2019 Recap | Charleston Wedding Photographer

Hey everyone, 2020 is almost here! We’re coming up on not just a new year but also a new DECADE! It’s crazy to think about how fast it’s all gone by. After some ups and downs this year, I’m counting my 2019 blessings.

I want to say a very big THANK YOU to everyone who booked with me and supported me this year (and in years past) and to everyone who has followed along on social media, read any of my blog posts, or even just liked a post every now and then. You are the real MVPs.
I had a lot of fun getting to know some new people this year and catching up with previous clients. I’ve photographed some engagements, weddings, maternity, newborn, and family photos and I’m so grateful to have photographed such a wide variety of occasions this year.
Keep scrolling for my recap of 2019!

Kayla and Grant’s Hampton Park Engagement Session

My very first shoot of 2019 was Kayla and Grant’s romantic Hampton Park engagement session. Complete with Frenchie yawns and strolls down ivy covered paths, this shoot started the year off with a bang!

Kiah and Aaron’s Downtown Charleston Engagement Photos

Kiah and Aaron asked me to take some engagement photos for them while they were visiting Charleston. Aaron joked and kept everyone laughing through the session – so much fun with these two!

Britany and Bryton’s Wedding at The Island House

What can I say about these two? They are such kind people and their wedding day was so so gorgeous and I’m still obsessed with it (Check out their blog post for all the best moments ^^)! Their glowstick exit at the end of the night was so beautiful – the first one I’ve seen but now I’ll recommend it any day!

Whitley and Chad’s Park Circle Engagement Photos

Earlier this year I got to take Whitley and Chad’s engagement photos in Park Circle and then I got to end the year with their wedding! This location was new to me. While I had been to restaurants and bars there, I had never shot in Park Circle. For that reason, this shoot was a little bit of a challenge but a welcomed one. Here’s to trying more new locations in 2020!

Audrey’s Newborn Photos

While newborn photos aren’t really my thing, I just couldn’t say no when Robert and Mary Elizabeth called me up. I photographed this couple’s proposal a few years ago, it was so nice seeing them again and meeting their sweet new addition!

Johnathan and Victoria’s Sullivan’s Island Maternity Session

My cousin and his soon-to-be bride had a sweet baby girl this year and I had such a blast photographing their maternity photos on Sullivan’s Island — major mermaid vibes from this mama! This is my first maternity session is SO long I can’t even remember the last one but I’m so glad I got to branch out this year and expand my portfolio.

Laura and Baron’s Downtown Charleston Anniversary Photos

Laura and Baron came back to town this year and scheduled some anniversary photos with me. I first met them during their engagement session on Sullivan’s Island a couple years ago and it was great to reconnect with them. They even remembered my favorite Snoop Dogg joke 😂

Sara and Ian’s Hampton Park Family Session

This was the first photoshoot I did after I broke my arm during the summer and I’m so so grateful it was with Sara and Ian. I have photographed their engagement, their wedding, and now some family photos with their pup. This made my heart so happy ❤️

Kailyn’s Spooky Shoot at Colonial Dorchester

When Halloween rolled around, my sister Kailyn and I put together a (very last minute) spooky bridal inspired shoot to celebrate the holiday. It’s been a while since she modeled for me but it was fun to get my OG subject back in front of the camera.

The Hull Family at Hampton Park

I met this sweet family this year and I still can’t get over how stinking cute these kids are. So much fun meeting a new group this fall!

The Burrous Family at Smythe Park

Photographing this family makes my job so easy. This is the most laid back group EVER and I’m so thankful I’ve gotten to photograph them 3 times now! Super mama and my work pal Anna is an amazing designer, check out her work on etsy

Whitley and Chad’s Barn on Summer’s Drive Wedding

I ended my year laughing through wedding day with Whitley and Chad! Talk about a jolly ending to the year. Celebrating with these two and their family reminded me why I do what I do and really recharged me after my break this summer.

While this isn’t an all inclusive account of 2019, I’m so thankful for every one I’ve met and caught up with this year.

Here’s to more love, laughs, and friendships in 2020! Happy New Year! 🍾
